Long road to recovery on the cards

Economic catastrophe has been averted, but the road to recovery is likely to be long and bumpy in spite of a surprisingly brisk start in recent weeks, according to policymakers and economists at the Fed conference.

Most were reluctant to declare the crisis over, even though they thought the worst was past – in large part because they do not feel they have a solid grasp of what will happen in the world economy beyond the next few months.
