Times-WSJ rivalry to hit the headlines

The New York Times Company’s new eco-friendly, glass and steel headquarters is a cathedral of light on Eighth Avenue that stands in stark contrast to the brick fortress that preceded it.

But these days some media executives believe the Times might be better served by a fortress because the paper may soon be under siege from Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp and its latest acquisition, the Wall Street Journal.
