During his four years at the helm of Citigroup, Chuck Prince has issued some memorable one-liners.

Following the ‘Dr Evil’ European government bond trading strategy that led to Citi being fined €14m ($20m) in 2004, Mr Prince described traders as “knuckleheaded” and promised they would feel disciplinary action “stingingly”. The remarks infuriated Tom Maheras, head of Citi’s capital markets business, who refused to sack any traders.
