Bullying biggest online threat to children

The biggest threats faced by children online are not those generally feared, with the result that technologies developed to shield minors from harm may be ineffective, according to a study to be released on Wednesday.

Bullying by other children is by far the most common problem, finds the report, compiled by a group including leading internet and technology companies. The widespread and mistaken fear, which has been intensified by media coverage, is that adult sexual predators pose the biggest danger.
