Bank stocks drag FTSE lower

Barclays led the London market lower as financial stocks dragged the FTSE 100 to its fifth decline in a row.

Reports that the UK government would stop short of creating a “bad bank” to buy up toxic assets left the banks vulnerable to profit taking, dealers said.
