British Grand Prix to change venue

Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One’s commercial director, on Friday dropped a bombshell on the first day of practice for Sunday’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone by announcing the race would move to Donington Park in Derbyshire from 2010.

His decision comes after months of negotiations with the British Racing Drivers’ Club, Silverstone’s owners, during which Mr Ecclestone demanded changes to the Northamptonshire circuit.
