The fight for digital pirates’ booty

When John Kennedy was a young man, his sister worked in the record business and would bring him home albums before they were released. At the age of 25, after training as a lawyer, he decided to go for a job in the industry himself.

“I was interviewed by a guy with a white suit and a cigar, who was clearly drunk from a very good business lunch. He asked: ‘Why would you want to work in this industry?’ I looked at the cigar and his sports car and said: ‘Why wouldn’t I want to work in this industry!’ ”
