Forty years after the disenchanted student revolutionaries of 1968 left Paris to set up goat farms and rural carpentry shops, generational change is once more in the air in France.

Today, Generation Y – or “Generation Why?” in the words of François de Wazières of L’Oréal – is setting a new challenge for France’s biggest employers.
