Standing in the Kerry Logistics Centre in the Port of Yantian, southern China, it is clear why there is nervousness in the transport and logistics industry about the economic outlook.
Amid the piles of cardboard boxes are stacked piles of chairs bound for the US and boxes bearing the names of American furniture brands. All are awaiting packing in containers for export to the US, the main destination for goods from this eastern side of Shenzhen, one of China’s manufacturing powerhouses.
