Aviva Investors forced to sell property portfolio

Aviva Investors, the fund manager, is to offload £800m of commercial property from its with-profits funds after the decline in value of other investments caused an overweight to real estate.

The company needs to realign allocations to different asset classes within its funds, which means that it will be forced to sell one of the largest portfolios of properties in the past two years at a low point in the property cycle.
