Three UK Black Watch troops killed in Iraq

Three British troops were killed by insurgents in Iraq on Thursday, reigniting controversy over Tony Blair's decision to grant the US military back-up for an attack on Fallujah.

In one of the darkest days for British troops since President George W. Bush declared major combat operations over in May 2003, the Black Watch battle group were killed in a suicide attack at a vehicle checkpoint, Adam Ingram, the armed forces minister, said on Thursday night.
