Mexican president calls for reform

Felipe Calderón, the Mexican president, promised on Wednesday to tackle economic, political and social reforms amid a severe economic recession and growing criminal violence.

Mr Calderón said the country needed “to shake off the perception that not only does nothing ever happen in Mexico but that it can’t happen.”
