EU agrees a financial crisis plan

An emergency plan for dealing with a financial crisis has been agreed by European Union finance ministers, central bankers and financial regulators.

Jean-Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank, said the agreement aimed to ensure an exchange of information about an impending crisis, to try to stop it spreading across borders.
