A dramatic climax to a vicious dispute between Indonesia’s powerful anti-corruption agency and the police has transfixed the world’s third-largest democracy.
The case – involving two of the agency’s directors, who were arrested last week over alleged bribery – has put the Indonesian president’s drive for clean governance under scrutiny. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono started his second five-year term last week vowing to boost the fight against corruption to attract investment.
