User-generated content is king in 2006

Internet sites promoting user-generated content – where individuals are able to post and edit material of their choice – have become the fastest-growing online brands in the UK this year, according to research published Thursday by Nielsen/NetRatings.

Although their popularity continues to grow, music download sites such as Apple Computer’s iTunes and LimeWire do not appear among the top 10.
