Wall Street stocks gyrate on bank fears

An apparently minimal movement by the close of the market belied what was another wild session on Wall Street on Thursday as several banking stocks slid to fresh multi-year lows.

Strength in commodity and consumer sectors helped the wider market finish in positive territory following more volatile trading, as panicked selling of financial institutions abated somewhat in the afternoon.
