Could the US end up with a health reform that combines the best of the policies put forward by Barack Obama and his Republican rival John McCain during the last presidential campaign?

In other words, Obama-style structural reform to enable universal coverage and long-term cost control, paid for by McCain-style taxes on high-end health plans?
