FSA regulation move set to cost City £50m

The financial services industry will be landed with a £50m bill from the City watchdog as it seeks to cover the cost of its much-vaunted move to principles-based regulation.

Some finance professionals are likely to balk at the cost, especially given continued uncertainty in the City about the meaning of principles-based regulation and how it will work in practice.
