Mexico output suffers record decline

Mexico’s economic output plummeted during the second quarter of this year faster than at any time since records began, the country’s national statistics office confirmed on Thursday.

Gross domestic product between April and June shrank a staggering 10.3 per cent compared with the same period last year as the combination of US recession, falling oil production and the A/H1N1 virus caused havoc on the economic performance.
