Renewing the fuel debate

The car industry is this week expected to highlight new measures to reduce CO 2 emissions and improve fuel economy, as the environment once again dominates the agenda at the Geneva auto salon.

In every segment famous brands are responding to concerns over climate change, energy scarcity and the impact of emissions. That impetus for change has been reinforced by rising oil prices and new regulations, notably the European Commission's proposals for reduced CO 2 emissions.
