Uganda on Tuesday strengthened its effort to eliminate war crimes charges against Joseph Kony, the obscure rebel leader whose 20-year insurgency in the north of the country became the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) first test case.
Yoweri Museveni, Uganda’s president, said on a visit to the Commonwealth Secretariat in London on Tuesday that as part of an imminent peace agreement he would seek to persuade the ICC that Mr Kony should face traditional justice at home.
