US traders hoping for a quick getaway ahead of the long Independence Day weekend had to delay their travel plans after a technical glitch stalled trading on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

Problems with connectivity on one of NYSE’s systems caused a backlog of orders shortly before Thursday night’s close.
