German employers act on payroll taxes

Germany’s employers are preparing to sue the government to force it to lower the payroll taxes that make the country’s workers among the most expensive in the world to hire.

The move, announced on Sunday, is the latest evidence of the fast deteriorating relationship between the “grand coalition” of Angela Merkel, chancellor, and the business community.
