Final chance for retailers to shape EU rules

Big brand companies and online retailers are poised for a final flurry of lobbying as they try to shape new rules on how goods can be distributed and sold to consumers in the European Union.

Ebay, the online auction website, will tell European lawmakers in Strasbourg on Thursday that more than three-quarters of a million consumers have backed an online petition which opposes what it calls “unfair limitations” on the sale and resale of products on the internet.
