Opec lifts output for first time since July

After almost a year of slashing production, the Opec oil cartel last month increased its output for the first time since oil prices peaked at $147 a barrel in July.

The new data, from the cartel’s own oil market report, was published on Wednesday after oil prices rose above $60 a barrel, the highest level in six months and almost 85 per cent above February’s low of $32 a barrel.
