Leadership is key in poor nations, says Wolfowitz

Paul Wolfowitz, the new World Bank president, identified better leadership and more accountability in developing countries as key priorities in his first address to the annual meetings of the bank and the International Monetary Fund at the weekend.

On leadership and accountability, Mr Wolfowitz stressed the need to address corruption and to strengthen checks and balances on governments, including civil society groups and the free press.
