Spain to cut car speeds to save energy

The Spanish government plans to cut speed limits in and around cities as part of a drive to reduce the country’s fuel bill and do its bit for the environment.

Miguel Sebastián, the industry and energy minister, also plans to promote and extend public transport, introduce restrictions on air conditioning and invest in electric vehicles as part of a 31-point plan to save energy.
