Eurozone interest rates left unchanged

Eurozone interest rates have been left unchanged by the European Central Bank against the backdrop of a fresh surge in the euro to a record high against the dollar.

The ECB’s main interest rate has remained at 4 per cent since last June as the central bank has grappled with an uncomfortable combination of slowing economic growth and high inflation.
