Distributor fees higher in Europe

Fees paid to mutual fund distributors in Europe for equity funds are double those in the US, pushing up costs for fund investors.

Commission paid to distributors of cross-border equity funds in Europe averages 70 basis points, compared with 25-35 bps for the equivalent share class in the US, according to a transatlantic study of fund expenses by Lipper.
