Anti-China protesters disrupt Olympic torch-lighting ceremony

The risk that the Beijing Olympics could become a public relations disaster for the Chinese government was underlined yesterday when three protesters breached heavy security and interrupted a torch-lighting ceremony in Greece.

One of the protesters, who were from the Paris-based media rights group Reporters Without Borders, which was demonstrating against media restrictions in China, was able to get behind a senior Chinese official who was giving a speech and unfurl a banner before being dragged away by police.
