ANA prepares for European fine

All Nippon Airways, Japan’s second-biggest airline, has set aside Y16.2bn ($155m) to cover a potential fine by European competition authorities arising from its alleged involvement in an international air freight cartel.

The provision, combined with high fuel bills and costs related to retiring older aircraft, pushed ANA into a net loss for the January-March quarter.
