Sir, EU internal markets commissioner Charlie McCreevy’s proposal to extend the European copyright term for sound recordings by 45 years to 95 years flies in the face of all evidence (“EU seeks to extend copyright of musical performers”, February 15). The language of the press release is seriously misleading.
