US banking group attacks new agency plan

Proposals for a consumer financial products agency were on Wednesday attacked by the biggest US banking association as expensive, vague, contradictory and bureaucratic.

The agency is emerging as one of the main battlegrounds on the Obama administration’s regulatory reform white paper but industry concerns are so far getting short shrift from many lawmakers.
