Social Security reform before tax reform, says Bush adviser

Reform of the US tax system will have to wait behind Social Security reform, President George W. Bush's top economic adviser said ahead of next month's release of reform proposals from the President's Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform.

Al Hubbard, director of the National Economic Council, told the FT that the tax reform debate would not distract from Mr Bush's uphill campaign to overhaul the US pension system.
