Nuclear-linked items 'have vanished from Iraq'

Nuclear-related equipment and materials that have disappeared from Iraq may be of "proliferation significance", the United Nations' nuclear watchdog has warned in an appeal for more help in tracking the missing items.

In a letter to the UN Security Council, Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, expressed concern at the "widespread and apparently systematic dismantlement" of sites previously relevant to Iraq's nuclear programme and subject to IAEA monitoring.
