RWE to build €2.8bn German windfarm

RWE has unveiled plans to build Germany’s biggest offshore windfarm, helping to calm concerns that renewable energy investment has been blown off course by the financial crisis.

RWE Innogy, the German utility’s renewable arm, on Friday said it would invest €2.8bn in the near-1,000MW project situated off the North Sea island of Juist.
