Afghanistan on Thursday announced the names of the first members of parliament to be elected since 1969 as results finally started to trickle more than two weeks after the close of polls marred by fraud, violence and voter confusion.
Officials declared the results for two out of 34 provinces - Farah and Nimroz - marking another small step in Afghanistan's transition to a fully representative form of government laid down at the Bonn Conference in late 2001.
