Utility companies have claimed most of the top rankings in Business in the Community’s Corporate Responsibility Index, with United Utilities, the UK’s largest listed water company, taking the 2009 Company of the Year Award.

Philip Green, United Utilities’ chief executive, was presented with the title by the Prince of Wales, president of BITC, at a reception held to mark the organisation’s annual Awards for Excellence at Clarence House, the Prince’s London home, last night.
