Universities gain from non-EU students

Universities’ fee income from international students has more than doubled in only seven years, underlining the sector’s status as one of Britain’s fastest-growing export industries.

International fees rose to 8 per cent of UK universities’ total income in 2007-08, up from only 5.5 per cent at the beginning of the decade.
