Taxing Sandler

Ron Sandler, picked by Gordon Brown to run the nationalised Northern Rock, will fall victim to the government's crackdown on non-domiciles, writes George Parker .

The Zimbabwe-born Mr Sandler, who owns assets overseas, is among the "non-doms" who will have to pay a £30,000 levy to the government to avoid paying British tax on income earned abroad.
