When Mark Selway, chief executive of Weir, returns to Australia next month, he will be replaced in the top job at the Scottish engineering group by finance director Keith Cochrane.

Before joining Weir in 2006, Mr Cochrane was finance director at Scottish Power and chief executive of Stagecoach.
