Ramon O’Callaghan has been replaced as dean of TiasNimbas business school by Kees Koedijk, dean of the school of economics and management at Tilburg University, one of the two universities in the Netherlands to which TiasNimbas is affiliated - the other is Eindhoven University of Technology.

Prof Koedijk took over the role from September, though Prof O’Callaghan, who was appointed dean in January 2009, will support the handover process until the end of the year.

In his role as dean, Prof O’Callaghan spent much of his time developing a coherent strategy for the business school, owned 80 per cent by Tilburg University and 20 per cent by TU Eindhoven. The most significant move was to promote the MBA programmes taught with the university at the expense of those taught with the UK’s Bradford School of Management. The relationship between TiasNimbas and Bradford has now effectively been terminated.

Prof Koedijk is a specialist in financial management, with a doctoral degree from Erasmus University in the Netherlands, where he previously taught. When the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University announced its most recent dean’s appointment in 2011, it also replaced a string of international deans with a locally-educated professor, Steef van de Velde.
