The environment: Consumer consciousness tops the agenda

Passengers on air services between several British cities in the past couple of months have been able to take advantage of an unusual special offer. Virgin Trains has been accepting used boarding cards from these flights and handing out free first class rail tickets to the same destination in return.

Passengers can apply for this “plane relief” to salve their consciences and cure their “eco pain” with an environmentally friendly train journey in place of an ecologically damaging flight.
