Virgin Media set to raise profile with LSE launch

Virgin Media, the UK cable television operator, will start trading on the London Stock Exchange this Thursday in a move designed to broaden its shareholder base and raise its profile in the UK and Europe.

The secondary listing ends a long-standing anomaly in which the media company operates solely in the UK but trades on US-based Nasdaq.
