C&W incentive plan risks investor anger

Cable and Wireless risks reopening a dispute with investors because Richard Lapthorne, chairman, is to consider a new pay scheme for the top managers of the telecoms group.

Mr Lapthorne is to look at establishing a scheme to follow on from the company’s private equity-style incentive plan that sparked a backlash by shareholders in 2006 and 2007.
