Peter Weinberg, who co-founded independent investment bank Perella Weinberg in 2006, spent 20 years previously at Goldman Sachs, where his family has a famous legacy. His grandfather - who took a janitor's job at Goldman in 1906 with no high school education - climbed all the way to the top and ran the firm for three decades. Mr Weinberg, who was elected partner at Goldman in 1992, founded the bank's leveraged buy-out group and served as chief executive of its European arm.
Mr Weinberg, 51, helped found a co-ed boarding school for students of all financial means in Jordan with King Abdullah II, and serves in leadership roles at Harvard Business School and Columbia Medical School.
