Wise pension strategy up until retirement

Target date funds are rapidly becoming the most popular choice among participants in employer-sponsored, self-directed retirement plans.

A TDF is a fund of funds diversified among equities, bonds and cash that includes a feature that automatically reduces the proportion invested in equities as time passes. TDFs may be a good choice for many during their working years but not after they retire. Government policy should recognise this fundamental point.
