Asean vies to find crisis response

Leaders of the Association of South East Asian Nations are struggling to find a community response to the biggest threat in their 42-year history: the global slowdown.

The global crisis, incubated far away in the concrete canyons of Wall Street and the City of London, has clawed deep into the factories and paddies of south-east Asia and dominated their discussions in Hua Hin, Thailand last weekend.
