Air India to join Star alliance

Air India is to join the Star airline alliance. It is the first Indian carrier to join one of the three global airline groupings.

Star, which was established in 1997, is the biggest of the alliances with 19 members and is led by Germany’s Lufthansa, United Airlines of the US, Singapore Airlines and Japan’s All Nippon Airways.
