Lebanese leaders head to Qatar for talks

Lebanon breathed a sigh of relief on Friday as an Arab League peace plan started to come into effect and the country tried to get back to normal after a week of the worst violence since the 1975-1990 civil war.

As part of the agreement that ended the clashes, the country’s fractious leaders left for talks in Doha, Qatar where they will address the political impasse that was at the root of the fighting.
